With warm spring air blowing through the prairies, the birds are on the wing and the bees are stirring. And on the ranches, a healthy bull’s fancy turns towards a little cow courtship. Dr. Keri makes house calls to bull farms, for their annual checkup and semen testing. The bulls’ health and virility are vital to every rancher’s bottom line. Bulls have a hierarchy of dominance. Younger bulls are always trying to work their way up the ladder when confined in small areas. Bulls frequently fight to establish their position in the group and can be unpredictable and dangerous. Jenna has a close call with the biggest, most ornery bull in the bunch. Back at the clinic in Ashern, compared to large animals, Laura finds that working with cats can be kind of tricky. Tabby the cat has suddenly developed a shocking condition – Dr. Keri has to work fast to save the feline’s vision – and vital organs.
This is season 1 Episode 7 – Bullseye – and was originally broadcast on The Discovery Channel Canada
